Of the eight casinos our team checked, two name live baccarat on their own pages: Mr Vegas lists Baccarat in its live casino, and BetMGM has a VIP Baccarat Live page. 888casino names baccarat among its table games. The other five name no baccarat table. Every casino listed here holds a Gambling Commission licence, and the cards run in rating order. To compare tables, look at the studio that streams the game, the table limits where a casino gives them, and how its welcome offer counts live table games. The On Air Tables team tests and checks every fact on this page.

How live baccarat plays

The Evolution baccarat page describes live baccarat as cards dealt by a studio dealer, with bets on the Player hand, the Banker hand or a Tie. The standard game deals cards face down at a bean-shaped table. Most of the page covers variants, and each changes one thing.

Live Baccarat Squeeze uses 15+ cameras and has the dealer squeeze the cards of the hand carrying the larger total wager. In Control Squeeze the player peels back an on-screen overlay to reveal each card.

Lightning Baccarat adds one to five random Lightning Cards a round, each with a multiplier of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 8x, and charges a 20% fee on the total bet. Golden Wealth Baccarat uses five Golden Cards with multipliers of 2x, 3x, 5x or 8x and the same 20% fee. Peek Baccarat lets a player look at one to four cards and then double or triple the bet, with a 20% fee on Player or Banker bets.

Speed Baccarat deals face up and finishes a round in 27 seconds, against about 48 for the standard game. No Commission Baccarat removes the 5% commission on Banker wins, and a Banker win on a 6 pays 0.5:1. The default Pairs side bets, Player Pair and Banker Pair, pay 11 to 1.

Bac Bo replaces cards with dice, and Dragon Tiger deals two cards. Playtech Live lists Baccarat VZN, which mixes live play with random-number technology. The roads on screen record past rounds and do not change the next one.

Baccarat and bonus wagering

None of the casino pages we checked gives a contribution figure for baccarat alone. The figures below are what each casino gives for live or table games in general, and our guide to live casino bonuses compares the full offers.

  • Grosvenor Casinos: every Live Casino game, game shows included, carries a game contribution of 10%, against 100% for slots, towards wagering of 10x on deposit plus bonus.
  • Unibet: table games count 10% and slots 100% towards bonus funds wagered 10x on slot games; some games are blocked from bonus play.
  • BetMGM: Live Casino and Table Games count 0%; Dream Catcher and Mega Ball are among the games that count 10%.
  • LeoVegas: Table Games and Live Casino games are excluded from the wagering requirement.
  • Casumo: the contribution varies per game, and most games count but not all, towards 10x on the bonus amount.

The pages of 888casino, William Hill and Mr Vegas give no game contribution for live table games.

Play within your limits

Set deposit, loss and time limits before you play, not during a round. Live rounds and game show spins come quickly, so set a session time as well and take breaks. A bonus on screen or a large multiplier is never a reason to raise a limit or chase a loss.

The tools the casinos on this page state:

  • Casumo: wagering, loss and deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks, self-exclusion.
  • Unibet: deposit limit, net deposit limit, product block, self exclusion.
  • LeoVegas and BetMGM: time-outs, reality checks, daily, weekly and monthly deposit and net deposit limits, loss, stake and session limits, self-exclusion.
  • William Hill: self-exclusion, deposit limits, time-outs, product blocking, session time reminders, account closure.
  • Mr Vegas: wager, deposit, loss, max bet and time-out limits, reality check, lock account, self-exclusion.
  • Grosvenor Casinos: net and gross deposit limits, Take A Break, Reality Check, self-exclusion.
  • 888casino: deposit limits, a time spent reminder, take a break, self-exclusion.

Gamstop blocks every online gambling site and app licensed in Great Britain at once. Each gambling business also has its own self-exclusion arrangements. You must be 18 or over to gamble.

Help is free:

  • National Gambling Helpline (England and Scotland): 0808 8020 133
  • NHS Wales Helpline (Wales): 0808 2819 265
  • GambleAware lists these helplines and says its support services are for Great Britain residents only.

Questions

Is live baccarat the same as online baccarat?

Both are baccarat. The live version is streamed from a studio, and Evolution's page adds live betting statistics and a view of other players' moves. Fees, side bets and payouts differ by variant, and each live game has its own Help section in its interface.

What is the tie bet in baccarat?

A tie bet wins when the Player and Banker hands finish on the same total. In Evolution's live baccarat, a Red Envelope can sometimes raise the payout on the Tie bet spot, by up to 88x. A higher possible payout is never a reason to raise your stake.
