888casino review for UK players

The 888casino about page says its Live Casino tables are offered alongside classic table games such as blackjack, roulette and baccarat, and that game shows sit in the same live offer. It calls the tables and shows a popular choice with its players. The same page says the casino hosts live progressive and daily jackpots.

The 888casino pages name no studio behind its live tables, give no number of tables and show no table limits. Table limits are the lowest and highest stake a table accepts in one round. Our guide to live casino studios shows who makes live tables.

The 888casino pages name no game show, so for how the main shows work see our guide to live casino game shows.

The promotions page says to stake your deposit on selected slots within 48 hours to get a 100% bonus equal to the deposit, up to £100. Separately, promo code HELLO200FS gives 200 free spins at £0.10 a spin. You make a first deposit of £20 or more, then stake £20 in real money on selected games within 7 days of the deposit.

The free spins must be used on selected games within 7 days of credit. Winnings from them, up to £100, are converted into bonus. That bonus carries a wagering requirement of 10x its value on the selected games, to be met within 7 days of it being added to the bonus balance.

The 888casino pages give no game contribution for live play (how much live play counts) and no maximum bet. Ask live chat whether live tables count before you stake on one. Our guide to live casino bonuses shows how contribution and maximum bet rules work.

The banking page shows logos for Visa, PayPal, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Trustly and Sofort. The user agreement says 888casino does not charge fees for any deposit method, although some banks may impose fees, so check with your provider if you are unsure. That fee line covers deposits only, and the 888casino pages give no fee for withdrawals.

The 888casino pages give no cashier minimum deposit and no withdrawal time. The £20 in the welcome offer is that offer's own qualifying deposit, not a cashier minimum. They also give no withdrawal limits, which are the most you can take out in a set period. Check the withdrawals page before you deposit.

888casino is run by 888 UK Limited, a company registered in Gibraltar with company number 111791 and a registered office at 601-701 Europort, Gibraltar. The user agreement says 888 UK Limited is part of Evoke plc. It also says 888 UK Limited is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission of Great Britain under account number 39028, in respect of customers in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and Northern Ireland. Every casino listed on this site holds a Gambling Commission licence. The account number is the reference to look up on the Commission's public register.

Pros:

• More than 2,000 casino games, the casino's own claim (no exact count).
• Live chat support.

Cons:

• Account and safety scores 3 of 5 in our rating: the 888casino pages show no active licence register status.
• VIP and loyalty scores 1 of 5 in our rating: no VIP or loyalty programme is listed on the casino's site.
• Mobile scores 3 of 5 in our rating: play is in the browser or by download, with no store app listed.

The rating is 3.2 out of 5, built on five of six criteria. Games and Support each score 4 of 5. Bonuses is not scored, because the 888casino pages give no wagering requirement for the 100% bonus on the first deposit.

Set a deposit limit, a loss limit and a time limit before you play, not after a bad run. Live rounds and game show spins come quickly, so set a session time and stop when it ends.

888casino states these tools: Deposit Limits, a "time spent" reminder, a break during which you suspend your use of your account, self-exclusion and Parental Controls.

A bonus on screen, or a big multiplier in a game show, is never a reason to raise a limit or chase a loss. Every round is independent, so earlier results say nothing about the next.

Gamstop blocks every site licensed in Great Britain at once. Each gambling business must also keep its own self-exclusion arrangements. At 888casino, a new self-exclusion request is extended to related accounts you hold with its group brands: 888casino, 888poker, 888sport, 777.com, William Hill and Mr Green. Self-exclusion is never something to look for a way around.
